We've been talking about doing one for a long time, so finally we're going to take the plundge and get a custom table made. We've decided to go with the "kidney bean" shaped table so that a dealer has a designated position. An 8 foot table will also allow that bit more room compared to the standard 7 foot tables we use for dealing the final table. Colour of the felt and arm rests has also to be determined. Suggestions on this please??? Yellow felt and black arm rests has been suggested but yellow would be very difficult to keep clean. Red/black or Blue/black seem to be the most realistic choices. Also the depth in height from the felt to the top of the arm rest will be increased from the current 1 inch to 2.5/3 inches. The width of the arm rest will be 5 inches as compared to the 3 inches its currently at...this will make it that bit more comfortable. And finally there will be NO bottle/glass holders on the table for drinks We'd hope to have this completed within a few weeks at the very latest...maybe in time the the home leg of the team event all going well!

www.bebo.com/PhotoAlbum.jsp?MemberId=3670984123&PhotoNbr=1&PhotoAlbumId=4868287319The final table project photo's can be viewed here on my bebo page. The table is going to be felted and arm rests covered on wedensday. The felt will be a deep blue velvet, with black leather arm rests and a yellow 2 inch strip between the two. The table will have a 5 inch drop from the top of the arm rest to the felt so will be abit different in design to standard tables. We also tested out the idea of using webcams to record all the action from any final table we wanted. So the compartments for adding the cameras in a few months is located under the armrests...as you can see from the photos. The idea of the webcam recording is simple enough. There will be 10 player "hole Cams" that will show each players two down cards. There will also be 4 other cameras placed under the arm rests that will capture the players themselves, and one other camera on a pole behind dealer position that will record the flop etc... Thats a total of 15 cameras. so the only thing that we have to do is to run some software ideas through to see what ones work best. We've alread tested the idea out and it works fine. Obviously we would only use the recording feature on bigger tournaments.

thats the same project. The OP is a friend of mine who came up with the idea of the webcams. I told him to post on boards for more info as thats the place to find stuff like that out. My old man made the table so we're getting it covered etc this week. But the camera idea is for down the line. it wouldn't have much appeal IMO week in week out, but would be a novelty idea every now and again.
