Its been suggested a number of times over the past few months about a mini "world series" type festival.
This would basically mean a series of events(one per day) over a long weekend. A bank holiday weekend maybe?
A tourney on the fri night, sat night, sunday(main event) and the monday night.
Initally I thought of something like the following:
Friday night: Normal €50 Freezeout.
Saturday eve/night: A rebuy event
Sunday: The main event. A €100/€150 Freezout. 30 min blinds/10k stack etc...usually structure for a slow game.
Monday night: A €50 Freezeout.
Also it would be a nice idea to have a "player of the tournament" prize. Maybe €50 per tournament is held back(€200) and given to the player who has the most points at the end of the four tourneys!
This could be based on players receiving points for making final tables etc.... With the points structured a little different for each event...making sure that there would be slightly more points for making the final table of the main event than the other 3 tourneys etc..
Its just an initial idea as I said. I know 5 or 6 guys that are very keen on having something like this arranged.
The only limitation to sorting this out would be the venue.
Where could we get that would allow us to run a tourney on a saturday night?
Sure its something to think about.

i like the idea of a weekend festival. cud it be an idea to have the main event on the sunday as u suggested. but have the fri and sat as sats for the main event . and have a bigger buy in for the main one. u could even run sats for a few weeks previous . why not go for a Big game on the sunday ..

yeah thats an option. What could be done is have the main event as something like a €300 buyin and run a few sats for it the few weeks leading up to it. But still have the fri, sat and monday tourney as I mentioned above. The only reason I had the main event as a €100/€150 buyin...was to make it accessible to all players, and so that they had the option of playing in all the weekends events if they wanted, without breaking the bank.

I think you will be better sticking to a €150 event, and give 'credits' as part of your preceding tournaments.
Maybe in units of €50? e.g A win in tubber could be €350 plus a €50 tourney credit = €400
Any higher than €150/€200 is going to leave you with a 'sit and go' field size.
If you have a 2 month tourney lead in ...most regulars will have credits built up, and those who want to pay in on the day will not be too scared off by entry fee.
On the days before the main event you can run Sit and go satelittes for those that get knocked out of other tourneys at the festival.

Would hope to get a decent size field for the main event, so that way would make it accessible to most even if they didn't earn any credits. My main concern would be locating a venue for the saturday night tourney, but I'm sure that we'll get somewhere suitable. The Moylourg for the other 3 nights should'nt be a problem.
